Admission Process:

SUBMISSION OF ONLINE APPLICATION FORM, DOCUMENT VERIFICATION & CONFIRMATION AT ARC FOR ADMISSION TO FIRST YEAR OF FOUR YEAR DEGREE COURSES IN ENGINEERING/TECHNOLOGY

This Notification is being issued for Submission of Online Application Form, Document Verification and Confirmation at Application Receipt Centres by candidates to be admitted in State Government/Aided Colleges, University Managed Institutes, University Departments, Such Unaided colleges and/or such number of seats from Unaided colleges, which by mutual consent have decided to form part of this admission process of Engineering/Technology & Pharmacy Courses for the Academic Year 2009-10. [Except in six Autonomous Engineering Institutes viz. VJTI, Mumbai; ICT, Mumbai; COE Pune; SGGS IE&T, Nanded, WCE, Sangli and VIT, Pune (Un-Aided),]

Minimum eligibility criteria for applying to admission to these courses are as mentioned in the Information Brochures of the respective courses issued at the time of submission of application form for MHT-CET 2009. The “Online Application Form” is being made available to only those eligible candidates, who are desirous of seeking admission to the aforesaid colleges through this Admission Process on the official websites viz. www.dte.org.in/fe2009 (for Engineering/Technology courses) and www.dte.org.in/ph2009 (for Pharmacy course). Aspiring candidates are required to fill in the Online Application Form, take the printout of the Online Application Form and Confirm the Online application form in person along with duly signed printout of the Online Application form, required documents (both originals & attested copies) at the Application Form Receipt Center (ARC) listed below as per schedule. The merit list of eligible candidate for Centralized Admission Process (CAP) will be displayed on website. Applications of Maharashtra State, OMS, and AIEEE candidates received by post at ARC/DTE office will be rejected and no communication will be done with the candidate.
Note:
  1. It is MANDATORY for all eligible aspiring Maharashtra State, AIEEE-2009 (Paper-1) qualified and J&K Migrant candidates to submit and confirm Online application form for Engineering / Technology.
  2. It is MANDATORY for all eligible aspiring Maharashtra State and OMS candidates to submit and confirm online application form for Pharmacy.
  3. AIEEE and J&K Migrant candidates should draw D.D./ Pay Order of specified amount on any Scheduled/Nationalised/Commercial Bank in favour of “The Director, Technical Education, Maharashtra State” Payable at Mumbai.
  4. AIEEE-2009 (Paper-1) qualified candidates applying for Engineering Courses: Such candidates should confirm the application form at ARC, along with a DD/Pay order of Rs. 900/- (of Rs. 700/- in case of candidates of Backward class categories belonging only to Maharashtra State).
  5. Maharashtra State candidate aspiring for admission against AIEEE seats, if they are AIEEE-2009(Paper-1) qualified should apply for All India Seats (AIEEE) through the same application form along with DD.
  6. J & K Migrant Candidates applying for Engineering courses: Such candidates should send print out ofduly filled in and signed online application form and attested copies of required documents for confirmation along with a DD/Pay order of Rs. 900/- to: The Principal, Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Versova Road, Munshi Nagar, Andheri (West), Mumbai-400 058.
  7. If the candidate fails to confirm the online filled application form at ARC, then such online filled application will be rejected and name of such candidate will not appear in the merit list(s) prepared for the purpose of CAP. Such candidates whose names do not appear in the merit list(s) will not be able to participate in entire Centralized Admission Process.
Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for Engineering/Technology Courses:
For the academic year 2009-10, the Competent Authority shall conduct total Four (4) rounds of Centralized Admission. The CAP shall consist of first three (3) rounds of Centralized Allotment wherein eligible candidates will fill separate/fresh Online Option forms for respective rounds. Fourth round of CAP shall be conducted by way of counseling only for the eligible Maharashtra State candidates. Candidates who have filled in and confirmed the aforesaid Online Application form for Admission to Engineering course at ARCs and who have been assigned a merit no. shall be eligible to participate in the CAP\ except: Those Candidates who have once confirmed their admission in any one of the aforesaid six Autonomous Institutes are not eligible to participate in any of the CAP rounds-I/II/III/IV conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, M.S., Mumbai. Even if such candidate subsequently cancels their admission in Autonomous institutes, they will not be considered eligible to participate in CAP Rounds I/II/III/IV. Information Brochure:
The Information Brochure containing Institute Information, course wise sanctioned intake, choice codes, Instructions to fill in the online option form of each CAP rounds, Rules of Eligibility to participate in CAP Rounds etc. will be made available to all eligible Candidates free of cost after showing Receipt –cum- Acknowledgement letter at the ARCs, before filing up the Option form of CAP Round-I. Candidates should carefully go through the entire Information Brochure and follow the instructions set out therein for further course of selection and admission. Kindly note that non-compliance with any of the provisions set out in the Information Brochure will result in rejection of claim for admission.

The detailed schedule for display of availability of seats, issue of Institute Information brochure, submission and confirmation of option form for CAP Rounds , Allotment of seats, Reporting to the institutes and admission by counseling round shall be notified after declaration of final merit.

Document Verification and Confirmation at Application Form Receipt Center:
The candidates are required to carry ALL Original Certificates and one set of attested true copies of these documents as mentioned in information brochure issued at the time of submission of application form for MHT-CET 2009. The list of document required is also available on website and will also be listed in the printout of the online application form.

The format of the proformas is available on website.
If the candidate fails to submit the required documents to substantiate the claim for reservation (caste/ physically handicap/defence), the candidate will not get the benefit of the reservation. In no case, any documents will not be accepted after the last date of verification and confirmation of the Online Application Form.
Rules and Regulations:
Students are required to give declaration as given below:-
Declaration by the Student:
  1. The information given by me in my application is true to the best of my knowledge and belief.
  2. I have read all the rules of admission as given in the admission brochure and after understanding these rules thoroughly, I have filled the application form for admission for the current academic year.
  3. I have not been debarred from appearing at any examination held by any Government constituted or statutory examination authority in India.
  4. I fully understand that the offer of a course/discipline will be made depending on my inter se merit and availability of a seat at the time of CAP round / scrutiny of my application, when I actually report to the admission authority according to the schedule of the admission.
  5. I understand that no document after a last date of submission will be entertained for the purpose of claims or concession etc. in connection with my admission unless & otherwise mentioned in the rules.
  6. I am fully aware that the Competent Authority or its representative will not make any correspondence with me regarding admission. I am also aware that it is entirely my responsibility to see the notices on the Notice Board of the College.
  7. I am aware that any rule imposed by the University such as “Imposing limits on the number of attempts permissible to pass an examination” shall be binding on me.
  8. I hereby agree to conform to any rules, acts and laws imposed by the Government and I hereby undertake that, I will do nothing either inside or outside the College which may result in disciplinary action against me under these rules, acts and laws referred to.
  9. I fully understand that the Principal of the College has a right to expel me from the College for any infringement of the rules of conduct and discipline prescribed by the College or University or Government and the undertaking given above.
  10. I am fully aware that I shall not be allowed to appear for the examination if I do not attend minimum 75 % classes of theory & practical. I am also aware that I shall not be allowed to appear for the examination if I fail to submit satisfactorily all the assignments, jobs, journals, drawing, reports as specified by the College or University within stipulated time limit.
  11. I shall not involve or indulge in Ragging or similar activity.
