This is the first Engineering College in India which has been identified by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) to run the vocational and skill development program of Govt of India. The activity is being run through the separate department, titled, Bapurao Deshmukh Institute of Leather Technology and General Engineering, headed by Prof. S R Chaudhari, within the campus. Complete machineries and accessories costing around 150 lakh has been provided by KVIC to our institute along with the annual recurring and non-recurring grant. With the aim to cater the services for community development of the area, College and Management have provided infrastructure for the centre. The centre has availed the grant from Govt of India under HRD Mission for imparting training on leather goods to youths.
